THE ORDER OF THE DAY

As a woman who has lived quite a few decades before technology was readily available to everyone, I have had some experiences that add to the cultivation of my life’s decision making. For instance, the life changing decision to walk away from everyone and everything in my life and embark on a journey without any clue as to what I was walking into came with challenges and rewards.

The people I have met on this journey have changed the way I see the world. It is not by accident that I arrived on the continent of Africa at the end of 2020. Some things are destined. Just about every person I met that moved from their home country at the same time stated that they felt a pulling. Yes family, we are being Called to leave the West. There are those of us who heard it loudly, others a whisper, and some felt it in their spirit.

I am blogging publicly about what I have found on the continent and what you will find if you are open minded and led by your spirit. It is not a panacea, Africa, but it is a nurturing environment. It is also inspiring to see this flower of repatriation bloom. To watch the transformation of moving from a disarray of individuals and ideas to multiple groups of organized people, planning and fellowshipping and finding their footing. This is what happens when you are free to be.  I have been blessed to watch children playing uninhibited and carefree, to see our men assume their rightful positions at the head, women relieved of the burden of carrying the world on their shoulders, and our elders and seniors receiving the honor and respect they deserve. Life is in order here.

The order of the day is try NOT to order the day. Here the day just happens. No real respect of time. Here we can think, create, manifest, and breathe. Here is a bit of a throw back to another time. Life is simpler. You are welcome to join us in the mission and let something new take hold of you too.

LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!

Many people assume that the life they are living is the only option available to them. The thought of leaving their country of birth seems as far away as the other country itself. Often those who step out do so alone. The life of a nomad can be lonely. The isolation you may feel of missing family and friends may be too much to bear. However, if you embrace it, the opposite could also be the result. There are many people who talk about the clarity of mind and spirit they received from being unattached to others, even if only for a short amount of time.

The decision to leave America was not a difficult one for me. I felt like I was being called to leave but I did not know where to go. I was initially going to move to Europe, and was all set to go after the country opened back up after the Covid lock down. However when Europe finally opened up Americans were not allowed in. By that time, I was already packed and set to leave. The atmosphere in America was such that I knew I would not change my mind about leaving. I searched for viable options and the only place allowing foreigners to visit at that time was Tanzania.

In retrospect Africa is where I was being sent. It was not an accident. I am sure about that because my spirit responded, opened up and embraced Tanzania. The first place I stayed was a boutique hotel in Mbezi beach in Dar es Salaam. I slept for days and did not leave the resort. I ate at the restaurant and slept on the beach during the day. I knew I did not want to leave.

Challenges exist when you venture out into the unknown. There are many pitfalls you may not be aware of but there are also new people to meet, experiences to have and adventures unimaginable.

There is an awakening of spirit taking place on the continent. The diaspora family is returning in droves and I cannot wait to view the fruits of the gathering.

Join us for the adventure. Follow me as I explore life on the continent.

Are You Happy?

Are you happy? I was asked that question recently by a family member. How do you define happiness?

The question is legitimate. I realized how unhappy I was for a very long time. I recognized my depression but didn't associate it with being bored, unstimulated or unappreciated. All those feelings were associated with my unhappiness.

Today I am happy. While living in a world gone mad, I can truly say I happy. It took me moving to a new world, surrounding myself with new people, new ideas and a new culture to find it.

Travelling is the Path to Everything

The power of travel is infectious. Traveling opens you up to new things. What you can expect to find are new smells, new people, new culture and maybe a new love. Life is a journey and travelling is the path that leads to it.

People often ask me about leaving everyone and everything I knew. How did I feel about moving to a new continent and not looking back? They want to know about the challenges I experienced and if living in a "3rd world" was difficult for me. The answer is the challenges came before the decision to leave. In America I heard daily about violent acts, racism, sexism and the pandemic was the icing on top of the cake. When I arrived on the African continent I found respectful people, fresh fruit and vegetables, a new language and new experiences. Were there challenges, YES. Were they deal breakers, not at all. The pluses out numbered the minues ten to one.

If today was yesterday, I would gladly do it all again.
